I feel like starting by asking; \u2018Do we really need to put astrology under a pre-defined category?\u2019 For example, as strange as it may sound mushrooms are mushrooms, they are not categorised as vegetables or fruit. So, similarly astrology may perfectly stay as \u201castrology\u201d only, instead of being an art, a divination or a science. In fact, astrology is a blend of a lot of things; astronomy, mythology, intuition, psychology and other things that make it unique at the end of the day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Like our natal charts, we may have intersection points with other people. However, finally that will be Teri\u2019s chart, Jack\u2019s chart, Venisha\u2019s so on and so forth.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
I can say that astrology is a field of studies or a discipline that gives guidance to people, either to improve certain aspects of themselves or if they want, challenge some of the inhibitors in their lives. Of course, nothing is set in stone. For example, looking at a natal chart, we may draw some non-judgemental conclusions or as indicated when making a horary, there may be some predictions. Nevertheless, for the seekers, it is in their hands how to shape the \u2018dough\u2019 given to them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
I think that having read all the development in astrology from different sources, I may say that the point that astrology has reached in today\u2019s world, puts this discipline to a more respectable place despite of the fact that there may still be people who may prefer to diminish the importance of its effect in people\u2019s daily lives.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Having said that, I should say that I have been impressed by the \u2018Archetypal Psychology\u2019 founded by James Hillman. I completely agree with his findings that there may be many common grounds between Astrology and Psychology, and they may be feeding and supporting each other to help people. In a way, two different disciplines, serving the same mission, why wouldn\u2019t they collaborate, right? I have found this article that was part of the conference \u2018Return of Soul to the Cosmos\u2019 so inspiring that I already started making online search and I am getting ready to buy the books written by Hillman since I would like to develop this way of thinking as I have always been a big admirer of psychology even though I was a student of Economics. Coming to beliefs, spirituality\u2026Well, as I am very much a person of logic rather than spirituality, most of the time at least. I think that the mathematical and jigsaw puzzle part of astrology has been very appealing for me, since I like solving mysteries if there are any to be solved. Thinking of a natal chart\u2019s pieces as the parts of a jigsaw puzzle, we try to understand each piece, then we put them altogether to have a meaningful interpretation about a person from different perspectives. Many years ago I have been to a respected astrologer back in Istanbul, and the moment I entered he asked me: \u2018Are you a ceramics artist\u2019 and I replied \u2018Noooo, how come?\u2019 I mean in a way, there are many options due to the characteristics of the planets, their expressions in signs, houses, aspects etc. but we need to complete the puzzle in a way that the pieces really click\u2026At least this is how I approach to chart interpretation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
