{"id":5811,"date":"2026-08-17T20:32:01","date_gmt":"2026-08-17T20:32:01","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/amethystastrotarot.com\/?p=5811"},"modified":"2026-08-17T20:32:03","modified_gmt":"2026-08-17T20:32:03","slug":"sun-soon-moving-into-third-and-last-decan-of-aries","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/amethystastrotarot.com\/?p=5811","title":{"rendered":"Sun soon moving into third and last decan of Aries!"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>The 4 of Wands would be on the <\/strong>s<strong>tage now as the associated Minor Arcana card!<\/strong>*<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It has been a bit over two weeks since the Sun entered into its sign of exaltation, Aries and now it\u2019s moving through the last degrees of the second decan (ten degrees) of this cardinal, fire sign. So, it might be already good to think and write about the third decan of Aries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In the first two decans, I started with astrology and finished with Tarot but today I will do the other way around by first giving some attention to Tarot. Let me quickly mention the decan rulers in this last decan of Aries: According to Chaldean\/descending order it is Venus and according to triplicity order it is Jupiter meaning that traditionally two benefic planets coming together in this decan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>\u2018Dreaming the Decans\u2019&nbsp;<\/em>by T. Susan Chang has been a very good companion for me during the decan walk a few years back. I am very grateful for that so I am opening the Tarot section with a quote from this book regarding the 4 of Wands:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>\u201cGarden of the branching paths\u2014<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>Savour that which cannot last\u2026\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">For the decans, I normally use Rider Waite Smith (RWS) deck due to its connection with the Golden Dawn. However, this time I would like to introduce you to a deck and an artist I really admire for the 4 of Wands: The Tarot of the Sevenfold Mystery and Robert M. Place respectively.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image aligncenter size-large is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"149\" height=\"250\" src=\"https:\/\/amethystastrotarot.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/08\/image-6-149x250.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-5812\" style=\"width:246px;height:auto\" srcset=\"https:\/\/amethystastrotarot.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/08\/image-6-149x250.png 149w, https:\/\/amethystastrotarot.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/08\/image-6.png 217w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 149px) 100vw, 149px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed aligncenter is-type-wp-embed is-provider-tarot-amp-divination-decks-with-robert-m-place wp-block-embed-tarot-amp-divination-decks-with-robert-m-place\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<blockquote class=\"wp-embedded-content\" data-secret=\"OENnb2wWx8\"><a href=\"https:\/\/robertmplacetarot.com\/the-tarot-of-the-sevenfold-mystery\/\">The Tarot of the Sevenfold Mystery: 2nd Edition<\/a><\/blockquote><iframe loading=\"lazy\" class=\"wp-embedded-content\" sandbox=\"allow-scripts\" security=\"restricted\" style=\"position: absolute; visibility: hidden;\" title=\"\u201cThe Tarot of the Sevenfold Mystery: 2nd Edition\u201d \u2014  Tarot &amp; Divination Decks with Robert M Place \" src=\"https:\/\/robertmplacetarot.com\/the-tarot-of-the-sevenfold-mystery\/embed\/#?secret=1Tln2TTzlk#?secret=OENnb2wWx8\" data-secret=\"OENnb2wWx8\" width=\"600\" height=\"338\" frameborder=\"0\" marginwidth=\"0\" marginheight=\"0\" scrolling=\"no\"><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In RWS, the scene more reminds us of a celebration though in some sources it\u2019s said that like in some of the cards of the deck (e.g. the 10 of Cups &#8211; somewhere over the rainbow image), it\u2019s a theatre stage rather than reflecting real life. However, on the image above even though there seems to be a union between two, it also gives us the feeling of blessing for everything coming together, creating something meaningful. Why blessing and coming together? I generally think that candles burning somehow represent prayers or blessings. And seeing all the alchemical elemental symbols on the pedestal make me think of a blend of different qualities forming one unique element.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">When we think of how we proceed through the decans in Aries quoting from my article on the 2nd decan of Aries \u201cFrom the person who is asking \u2018what next?\u2019 with the globe in hand, with the urge of conquer in the 2 of Wands, we get Lord of Virtue in the 3 of Wands. From conqueror to someone who oversees what is going on, more like a managerial role!\u201d And when we arrive at the 4 of Wands, it seems like the plan has been managed and executed in the best way and now it\u2019s time to cherish the blessings of this together! Though asking \u2018will this harmonious gathering be long-lived?\u2019 I believe that with the image of the 5 of Wands in mind, it might be challenging to give a 100% positive answer to this question.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I believe that Venus in Aries could be a very powerful energy in starting relationships, creating values, taking those impatient but brave steps to move forward, to build a new partnership, a new union, a new solution but\u2026But, it might need some support to make things steady once they get fired up! That could be the challenge\u2026In case of Jupiter in Aries, we may think about a speedy journey in which we may disregard some important details or crucial stops on the way. That\u2019s a question of being the rabbit or the turtle\u2026If we run fast, we might get tired fast and we run out of batteries fast! I think that the question would be what kind of a result do we expect from this journey and where would like to arrive at? In this regard, if we have natal placements in the 3rd decan of Aries we might experience these kind of impacts and face these kind of questions in certain areas of life\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">At this point, I would like to mention a third order that was being used in addition to Chaldean and triplicity orders which was the order introduced by Manilius. As the details of this can be found on&nbsp;<em>\u2018Astronomica\u2019,&nbsp;<\/em>just to give an idea; \u201cRather than assigning each decan to a god or Egyptian divinity, he distributes each third of a sign to another sign, beginning in Aries with Aries and going in sign order.\u201d (Greenbaum &#8211; The Daimon in Hellenistic Astrology Origins and Influence) And in this way, first decan of each sign assigned to a cardinal sign carrying the qualities of cardinal modality, second decan fixed sign &#8211; fixed modality and third decan mutable sign -mutable modality. I don\u2019t practise with this order but it could be a different way of approaching the decans.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Let me finish this decan with the images from&nbsp;<em>\u2018Liber Hermetis\u2019&nbsp;<\/em>and&nbsp;<em>\u2018Occult Philosophy\u2019&nbsp;<\/em>respectively:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cOn the third face of Aries \u2014 The third decan of Aries has the face of Venus. Its name is Disornafais. It is like a woman, erect, adorned with linen tied with gold strings tinted a dark rose color\u2026\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">and<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cin the third face arises the figure of a white man, pale, with reddish hair, and clothed with a red garment; who carrying on the one hand a golden bracelet and holding forth a wooden staff, is restless and like one in wrath, because he cannot perform that good he would.
