Pluto retrograde period (01/05-11/10/2023)
Good evening,
Pluto will be stationing for retrograde motion on 01/05 at 18:08 UK time at 00°21’ Aquarius. The retrograde period will finish on 11/10/2023 at 27°53’ Capricorn.
(By the way, I am happy that Moon is already in Virgo at the moment, so I feel like chop chop these posts need to be written down Teri!)
As you may recall, Pluto started travelling through the sign of Aquarius on 23/03/2023. It is a long journey in Aquarius that will literally continue more than 20 years.
However, during this retrograde period Pluto will re-visit Capricorn starting from 11/06 and Pluto will re-enter Aquarius on 21/01/2024.
It is worth mentioning that there will be one tour going back and forth (Aquarius – Capricorn) in 2024 until Pluto enters into Aquarius once again on 19/11/2024.
Wow all these revisits are exhausting, right? (at least to write them down – technical information before coming to the essence of the retrograde motion.)
Before really starting (coming there😊)) I would like to point out that with the Outer Planets / Transpersonal planets, the retrograde period is so long consecutively that they never get the same attention as much as fast moving planets’ retrograde periods. At least this is how I feel.
Although if we think that as they move slow, the transits of these planets are more impactful, why not enough attention for retrograde periods?
Especially, the transition from retrograde to direct or the other way around might make a lot of difference in the expression.
Let’s first remind ourselves what it might feel like with Pluto in Aquarius and in Capricorn in direct motion. I will quote from my previous blog:
“I am thinking how Pluto in Capricorn might have felt…
Capricorn might be associated with qualities such as ‘hardworking, structured, conservative, strategic, ambitious, patient even though sometimes too demanding, bossy not very much on the positive side…’
We are talking about a period from 2008 until late 2024. (on and off due to retrograde periods.)
I am neither a mundane astrologer nor a historian.
However, as I was working at the bank (2003-2013), I remember the hell the financial sectors in Europe and Middle East (actually the whole world such as the bankruptcy of Lehman Brothers in US…The excessive lending was the main issue…Nevertheless, I felt this region more, ‘why’ I am just going to explain) were going through towards the end of 2008 when Pluto re-entered into Capricorn for good?!after the retrograde period.
I was working in the financial institutions, and I was responsible for Middle East and Italy, lottery!
Overtimes, writing letters, writing limits, cancelling limits and more…
It was a very challenging period…(Maybe it was the sealing of my Saturn return as well!)
Completely system changing…
Forcing the financial sector to transform in a way that new rules, new restructuring programmes, new packages had to be created giving the message to all the world ‘you were on the wrong way, now I will straighten you up, you need to be resilient, you need to work hard, put effort…No easy money…’
It is true that the economy is very important in the development of the nations…
In this regard, it was a ‘test’ period for the world…
Pluto was maybe testing how far it might push, it might go and express its power in a Capricornian way…And it continued for years…
We have to consider that during this period, the sky didn’t stay static…It continued moving…
…I think that Pluto (in Aquarius) may transform the societies in a way that it might break down the traditional structures through social reforms, in unconventional ways…Traditional structures such as long-term authorities, conservative institutions…Sometimes, it is true that reforms may not come into force in a friendly way…Hopefully, ‘unsocial’ behaviours can be avoided…
We may expect some serious structural changes especially in terms of technology and innovation as Uranus (for the moment in Taurus) is the dispositor of Pluto in Aquarius which might have long-term impacts and require long-term commitments as Saturn (at the moment in Pisces) is the other dispositor.
It might be the case that the changes in the societies or how the people use power may make people feel estranged or detached…”
These are some of the parts from my blog about Pluto in Aquarius.

What about when Pluto starts with a retrograde motion first in Aquarius and later in Capricorn?
As I always mention, during the retrograde periods there is a sense of ‘re’ depending on the expression of the planet in question.
Let’s think about Pluto…It does represent transformation, determination, power, wealth, rebirth, putting down the taboos, death (not necessarily physical one), intensification and even invisibility (thanks to myths, lot of possible expressions…).
So, when Pluto is with retrograde motion In Aquarius, we may need to reconsider a possible transformation or rebirth that was happening in an unusual way in a particular area of our lives. We may also need to re-evaluate how estranged we tend to become due to the usage of innovations/technology. Where do we want to see ourselves?
If we think about the Capricorn part of this retrograde period, do we need to re-determine some structural developments especially in terms of finance or readjust the strategical plans or moves we make in certain areas of our lives?
I think that the list of possibilities and examples might be quite long.
In this regard, it is good to mention that we always need to pay attention where Pluto is placed in our natal chart and which house it is ruling as well.
And since we are talking about from 00°21’ Aquarius until 27°53’ Capricorn, we may need to see if we have any placements in fixed signs (Taurus, Leo, Scorpio and Aquarius) around the Aquarius degree mentioned and any placements in cardinal signs (Aries, Cancer, Libra and Capricorn) around the Capricorn degree mentioned above.
We have to think about retrograde periods as a time of stopping, the planet may not be expressing itself in the best and efficient way it does during the direct motion period, but everything happens for a reason. There might be a need for reflection and slow down.
There is a lot more to say about such as Pluto still squaring the nodal axis in the station chart but I think I will wrap up here. Tomorrow, I still hope to write about the month of May and also the Lunar eclipse on 05/05. (I see that Lunar Eclipse might be very interesting for me, I need to go 19 years back in the memory lane again…Maybe we all get ready to refresh our memories.)
I hope that you enjoy the rest of your weekend.
Teri
