Decan walk continues with the 2nd decan of Taurus
Now maybe we realise that ‘sharing is caring!’*
While I still have Full Moon in Scorpio in my mind, brainstorming about that, I have written about it doesn’t mean that I won’t come up with more new ideas:))) I can’t also stop thinking about the 2nd decan of Taurus. Actually, flower full moon will be happening when the Sun is already in the second ten degrees of Taurus.
I think that to see the whole picture or kind of progress in a better way, we could revisit the 5 of Pentacles musings. I have written the following lines on the 1st decan of Taurus article about the 5 of Pentacles : “In general, on this card there is a sense of hardship. Cold weather, people in need of help passing in front of an institution from which help could come. The question is that are the people inside the building aware of what is going on in front of their window? The feeling for the people outside might be more like the feeling of exclusion, not being cared about…What if there is a way out? What if they can make their voices and needs be heard by the people inside? The question is how…Maybe a knock at the window and saying ‘Is anybody in there? Maybe…I believe that even though it may not be always easy, probably could even be challenging, when we don’t give voice to our real thoughts, to our real words, we may face the reality of being the passers-by not being noticed by the people we would like to take the attention of…But, the moment that we use our voice to express what we think and/or what we value, the scene may dramatically change. Not 100% but worth the try! This card as it is could be a card symbolising poverty, being in a less advantageous position or it could sometimes give us the feeling like we are not included in the circle over there in a certain situation or in a specific environment…Why or depending why not? When we are seeking the answers, let’s calm the racing voices down in our mind and think in a slow, steady way and as a bonus if we manage to look at both side of the coins, we ‘may’ find a solution…”
So, what changes if anything changes when we make that transition from the 1st decan of Taurus to the 2nd decan of Taurus, from the 5 of Pentacles to the 6 of Pentacles?
Before going into the details of the card, let’s look at the decan rulers. In the second decan, we have Moon and Mercury as the Chaldean/Descending order and triplicity order decan rulers respectively. Moon is exalted in this fixed, earth sign. I sometimes think about Moon placements as how our souls are fed. I believe that when the Moon is in Taurus, nature, sometimes comfort food, sometimes familiar environments, and sometimes anything that could activate our five senses may feed our souls and provide us with safety! At the same time, the existence of tangible things may give us sense of security, too. This could be ‘the coins’ as in the cards or any item that could be carrying some sentimental value so that we stay attached to them. However, when we look at the current sky and during the time that the Sun will be going through the second decan of Taurus, it might be possible to say that as the natural ruler of Taurus is Venus and it is in Gemini, mental stimulations, social interactions may also carry a lot of value as well as make an impact on our understanding what we value the most! Before I start losing focus, let’s think about Mercury in Taurus. I can make a short quote from the same article mentioned above: “With Mercury in Taurus, you might have these practical ideas which could be the fruit of a slow, steady thinking process. and voicing your opinions could be very important…As we are talking about a fixed sign, sometimes it may not be easy to let go, to part ways with our ideas even though they might not be working since the attachment might overrule everything else! Sometimes…However, an image of a beautiful singing or talking voice is also forming in my mind…” And interestingly, Mercury soon will be starting its journey in Taurus…

As the decan rulers are covered, let’s look at the image on the 6 of Pentacles. We see a merchant looking person standing with a scale on one hand, and two people receiving some money from him. Is it ‘sharing is caring’ situation since I have earnt enough, I am comfortable, why don’t I make the others feel comfortable? Or is this one of the people behind the window on the 5 of Pentacles who decided that he can do something for the others who are in need? There is also a truth that as we give, we might be blessed and receive more, eventually! Reminding me of the following lines from Dreaming the Decans by T. Susan Chang:
“Halve my cake and eat it too—
Some for me, the rest for you.
Much to value, much to share.
Open doors everywhere.”
This feeling also brought my mind some monthly rituals that my late mother used to do when we both received our salaries. She used to tell me that we should buy something sweet so that we could spend everything in a sweet way and we should give some to who need more than us so that we cherish our earnings together which will also add more value to our efforts! (And I just checked – my mother’s Moon was in the 2nd decan of Taurus! Surprise surprise, we were literally living in the 6 of Pentacles world not that we were merchants:))) And thinking of Mercury in Taurus, there is absolutely a practical thinking process here which might make everyone benefit and create a much steady environment for everyone…If you wonder, I still continue this ritual inherited from my mother.
I feel like on this decan, I am not going to deep dive into sources I have been reading and finish it on this ‘sweet note’.
