The decan walk – Gemini Decan III
Sun and Saturn as the decan rulers will be on stage! And the 10 of Swords…*
While I am simultaneously writing New Moon in Gemini interpretation, Chiron in Taurus musings and thinking about Mercury shadow period around the corner, I just checked the ephemeris and I am like here comes the third decan of Gemini as Sun is finishing its journey in the second ten degrees of this mutable, air sign.
It happens a lot; I take it easy, let me read, let me research about my upcoming talks and articles and boom everything lines up!
So, the third decan of Gemini comes with Sun and Saturn being the decan rulers in Chaldean/Descending and Triplicity orders respectively. We might expect or experience the following in different areas of life depending where, which house the third decan of Gemini lands in our natal charts: how we express ourselves, how our identities shine, what stories our conscious part shares with the world, and how we build boundaries, what we make of time, reality and authority could be reflected in a sometimes rational, sometimes curious or hungry to learn, sometimes like a social butterfly or talkative; all different Gemini ways with our minds prone to change any time! And as communication, mental exchange carry a lot of importance for air signs in general, specifically for Gemini ruled by Mercury, it’s also possible to say that words, written or oral, have power and…
Before I start talking about the associated minor arcana card, I would like to point out that when Sun will be going through the last ten degrees of Gemini, Mercury will be still in Cancer and getting ready for retrograde period. In this regard, past memories, conversations and also ideas based on our roots, where we come from might make an impact on our self-expression and more caring or protective type of thinking process may dominate our core being.

10 of Swords – The Tarot of the Sevenfold Mystery by Robert M. Place
Having said all, let’s have a look at the 10 of Swords. Number 10 is quite interesting as it may symbolise ending as well as an invitation or opening for a beginning since a new cycle might be due! As far as I know, because of the image on the card, some people tend ‘not to like’ this card which is understandable to a certain part but every card has a message for us so we’d rather push ourselves to understand what the universe might be holding for us.
Ten swords, tips turned downwards and two are already inside the person lying down on the floor though the other eight may not touch anywhere but the floor, we don’t know…We may think that the harm is already done and nothing else to do. Is it or not? Any hope? Maybe yes maybe no…Generally, this direction of swords represent negative thoughts or negative way of communication so could it be the case that some words of others hurt us, take our power away leaving us weak although we might not be weak…Just the idea of criticism or rejection might be hurtful! We might have choices like we did in the 8 of Swords or the 9 of Swords. We can either continue staying on the floor lamenting about how we are not accepted by others or we just stand up and prove that words have consequences this way or that way. It might not be always easy to fight back or restart or just swallow ignoring the arrows of criticism and continue the way but maybe it’s easier than sitting and doing nothing at all…
Again choices and being able to change direction, divert our power to somewhere else when we don’t have much left to do in a certain place…
All the best,
Teri
