Turkiye elections – 2nd round (28-05-2023)

Hello everyone,

2nd round of Turkish elections to be held on 28/05 all around Turkiye.

When I say 2nd round, it really sounds strange…Like a match…

Well, it is what it is.

I would like to reiterate that I am not specialised in mundane astrology although I like it a lot since it gives a macro perspective.

I feel like repeating some of the things I have mentioned in the first round blog I have written. Here they come:

“I am not here to tell you who might win the elections.

I am here just to make some comments based on the archetypal symbolism of the planets which may tell us a very well-constructed story without being in need of making concrete predictions.

Only that, I use a different national chart with 29/10/1923 20:45 Ankara time instead of 20:30 since I believe that Turkish public (The Moon) may be expressed better in Cancer rather than in Gemini.

Moreover, 20:45 is the time when Atatürk was declared as the first president of the Republic.

In this regard, some may not agree with this timing but sometimes timing is not about the right time, but it is about the time that feels ‘right’.

I used three charts in relation to the national. Transit chart (the outermost wheel), secondary progressed chart (middle inner wheel) and solar arc directed chart (middle outer wheel). These are forecasting techniques widely used in astrology. In this regard, I wanted to see the bigger picture.

As it is an election and the government is based in Ankara, I took Ankara as basis even though the progressed and solar arc directed charts are based on the national chart.

The last thing is that I took 17:00 as the time of the charts.

That’s the time when the voting closes and in a way the results are sealed, whatever happens is going to happen. If we were sure about the announcement time, it could have been a good time but it is something that we could not predict. The start of the voting process, there is no consensus as the public abroad already voted in different times, in different places.

I wanted to explain the methodology I am following to demonstrate where I am coming from.”

It is interesting to see that the moment I printed the quadriwheel, the first thing that struck me has been the Moon placement. Moon is thought to represent the people, the public in mundane astrology as well as the public opinion.

On 14/05, Moon was in Pisces, compassionate, sensitive, going after their dreams if necessary for a rebirth as it was transiting the 8th house.

On 28/05, the Moon will be in Virgo (not exact, but still in opposition to the Moon of 14/05).

So, emotionally charged public now might be more practical, analytical in the house of internal communications, media, education and neighbouring states, which is the 3rd house.

Quite a shift, right?

As if leaving emotions aside, getting back with a more practical approach for the 2nd round…As the dispositor is Mercury which is in Taurus at the moment, it is possible to say that there might be more grounded and somehow more fixed type of communication possible, appearing in the 11th house (the parliament, the community spirit) and differently Mercury is with direct motion so that if there had been any hiccups that time, on 28/05 we might not expect it.

It is worth mentioning that the practical public might be in polarity with the rebellious spirit of the newly established republic as the Moon in Virgo is opposing the national chart Uranus in Pisces. In the oppositions, sometimes we might see some effort to find the middle way though…

As this Moon is a bit widely in conjunction with the natal IC, the public opinion may support the natural sense of being at home, feeling at home which is quite intriguing…

What about the Sun? The authority, the supreme power…

It is again in the 11th house but this time in Gemini. I had commented about someone that might bring more stability with a slow progress for the 14/05 chart and since it was ruled by Venus, I was thinking about someone that may bring more harmony with peace and values.

What about Gemini? We may think of a more rational approach, someone that is more flexible, that may get adapted to the changing situations better keeping the social spirit high, being more involved with the community maybe not at an emotional level but more at a logical level…

Again, Mercury is the dispositor of the Sun like it is of the Moon.

And the Lunation phase will be 1st quarter but no aspect between Sun and Moon. In this regard, the sentiment might be putting the past behind and try to focus on new structures but if there is any hesitation, all the opportunities may be lost…

The interesting thing is about Mars that is in Leo at the moment. The fighting spirit is not an emotional one, it is more confident, more creative, more at the centre stage which is part of the fixed T-square that has been there for a while. As there might be tension, it might be a pushing power at the same time for transformation, a grounded expansion as well…

As the things are like this on the transit chart, there is not much change regarding the progressed and solar arc directed charts.

Meaning?

I may quote from my previous brainstorming session for the 1st round:

“In the progressed chart, it is interesting to see that there is a New Moon phase that is in the 8th house. In mundane astrology, 8th house might be associated with national crisis, national debt along with ‘death and rebirth’ of the nation.

I think that the last part of the house association regarding ‘death and rebirth’ is very significant thinking of the New Moon phase which may be interpreted as a new start, putting new seeds into the soil for a new cycle. It is more like an inner projection rather than an outer one thanks to secondary progressions although sometimes we may see the reflections on real events as well.”

So, what is the feeling for this round?

I think that there might be a shift in the public opinion for more practical solution and someone with Gemini qualities who might be rational, social, connecting with the community at an intellectual level might be the one that may shine into the house of parliament.

However, the spirit of New Moon in progressed chart is still there…New seed, new cycle…

Voting is a right, so whatever your political opinion might be, no matter, please vote, that’s the joy of democracy!

All the best,

Teri
