Astrology vs Tarot

Confession time…I was really busy with reading new sources about Tarot and Astrology that I had completely forgotten about the blog…Also I was not sure what I was going to write about this week, until I started writing.

However, once I started typing, it all fell into place ‘Why don’t I try to compare Astrology and Tarot as I am involved in both of the disciplines?’

Well, maybe I have mentioned before but I think that you have to be like ‘Inspector Gadget’ to collect all pieces of clues that come along with the cards and the chart elements to turn them into a meaningful message, advice. In a way, as I always say ‘to complete the jigsaw puzzle’ where all the parts click, and nothing is left behind.

In terms of methods used, it will be correct to say that Astrology requires a lot of mathematics even though nowadays everything can be auto-calculated thanks to the software available. Nevertheless, in case you have any doubt or you prefer to calculate manually, the mathematics knowledge can be really handy. It is sometimes basic algebra, sometimes a bit of more geometry which I love. In Tarot, if Numerology is considered, which I use in the readings as well, it is more of a ‘basic maths’.

In Astrology, we have stars, planets, dwarf planets; in a way what we call celestial bodies that guide us, while in Tarot we are led by the depictions and meanings of the Tarot cards. However, it is important to keep in mind that in Tarot readings, the first 22 cards of a 78 cards deck (Called Major Arcana) are very much related with planets and zodiac signs such that we can see that each of these cards is associated either with a planet or a sign.

Again, in both disciplines, depending on the era of the practice, we may see influences of different cultures, religions or philosophies.

And, the interpretations should be ideally non-judgmental, not causing anxiety on the questioner regardless of what may be seen on the chart or in the reading. Do not get me wrong, in the name of not upsetting, empty hopes should not be given at all…

BUT (I always have a but😊) at the end of the day, different methods, different influences or some similarities, the final dish (as I like eating very much it should have been connected to culinary somehow) that is going to be served by both should include the intuition of the interpreter/reader.

I hope that I could give a general idea about Astrology vs. Tarot.
