Mars moving into Leo…
Maybe taking us back to memories back in 2024 and 2025?
I have to admit that I lost at least 10 to 15 minutes looking for my Mars in Leo article from 2024. But to no avail…I couldn’t find it, I only have the template I created in Canva! So, Mars entered in Leo last time back on Nov 4, 2024. However, due to retrograde period that time, back and forth, it went back into Cancer on Jan 6, 2025 and it only re-entered into Leo in Apr 18, 2025 staying in this fixed, fire sign until Jun 17, 2025. This time we don’t need to worry as there is no Mars retrograde period yet, at least until the beginning of 2027, later we evaluate again…
So, we are talking about more or less two years cycle depending on other factors. If we have natal Mars in Leo, this could be a Mars return for some of us. It might be a good period to reconsider our priorities in terms of our drive, what is worth fighting for or against, what motivates us, on what we’d better focus our energy on, towards where we channel our enthusiasm, our assertion in a certain area of life.
When we say Mars in Leo in general, that could be a quite performative energy with an expectation to be seen and recognised by as much as people possible. There could be a lot of creativity involved in the steps taken forward. Also, when we decide to move ahead, we could be quite confident about it! It may be a radiating, fun energy, warming up everyone around but at the same time sometimes we might run the risk of insisting on one type of strategy, one way forward and it may be challenging to change direction in such a potentially promising, authentic initiation.
Even though it might not be a Mars return for us – I will definitely wait for a long time until Mars reaches the end of Libra for my Mars return:))) – this transit will be happening in one or more areas of life depending on the house system we use from Sep 28 until Nov 25. If we have natal placements in fixed signs (Taurus, Leo, Scorpio and Aquarius), this transit might be more impactful in our lives. And to be clear, it’s not limited to our natal placements, it may be worth looking into the impact on our progressed charts or any other chart/method we might be utilising for forecasting.
I believe that it could be useful to think about our lives, in terms of what I have just mentioned, back in 2024 and 2025 and see what was going in that time knowing that the sky wasn’t exactly in the same configuration and we could have been at a different stage in our lives.

P.S. As we are talking about Leo, I will leave here my articles about the decans of Leo to have a different perspective when Mars is going through the decans of Leo. And as Sun is the traditional ruler of Leo, during this transit, we might see the impact of Sun in Libra, Sun in Scorpio and for a very short time Sun in Sagittarius on the transiting Mars.

Just leaving the Cancer season behind, I feel like after that contemplation period, thinking about the past and reorganising our ideas, we can finally see the way forward with Mercury retrograde period coming to an end. Not 100% end end but let’s say it so for the sake:))

The upcoming New Moon and Solar Eclipse in Leo will be in the third and last decan of Leo in which both Chaldean / Descending order and Triplicity order decan ruler is Mars. So, that’s why in this celestial event as much as mighty Sun, Mars might have some words to say!
