How may 2021 start?

I already mentioned on my Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/tpastrotarot that I will try to do something called ‘collective reading’ This means that I will open some cards and try to understand how 2021 may start in general.

As I always mention, conditions change, readings change. So, it is always better to take it easy and try to understand the past and present to get clues about the near future.

I generally use Smith-Waite / Rider Waite Tarot deck for the readings. The edition that I use is Centennial one since in size they resemble the normal playing cards and they are easier to handle. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rider-Waite_tarot_deck

I picked 3 cards- I know that 2020 hit everyone at different levels and the main subject had been ‘pandemic’. I think to have the reading isolated from this reality would be really hard since we all are curious about how to get ourselves out from this nightmare in the near future. 

I feel that the cards that came out may be mainly related with the vaccine and also the pandemic.

7 of Cups (Past); Ace of Swords (Present); 10 of Swords (Future). 6 of Pentacles (Shadow card) and The Hermit (Associating Card)

The past card is more like as if we were in a candy shop, there were lots of choices that looked sparkly and we did not know how or what to choose but in the end it was like daydreaming and might have turned out as complete delusion. In a way, this summarises 2020 with pandemic very well. Thinking that the virus could be supressed for a while but then turned back, then lots of vaccines appeared waiting for approval etc. Hopes rose but the numbers continued increasing so there was delusion that period.

Present card is hopeful, it is about the thoughts, communications coming out, nothing in complete action yet but even the present ideas are giving a chance to see the future better, less foggy than before.

The future card is showing ‘the deep in the ocean’. That means that the beginning of 2021 may show the worst results compared to 2020. There will be a period that everyone will say ‘yes, worse than this may not happen’ and we may still hit the bottom in different versions. However, I never see this card very negative. As we know, every bottom comes with a rise with it and there is sunshine and if we are lucky a rainbow after rain. In a way, I still see this card hopeful even though we may experience a period that is much worse than what we all went through in 2020.

There is no prophecy, this is what the cards tell under the current conditions.

Coming to the Shadow card, the 6 of Cups, this is a card that actually shows why I asked ‘How may 2021 start?’ It is showing that there is an expectation of healing and there is a search for being grateful. Adds more positive energy to the reading.

Before coming to the Hermit, I just want to look at the elemental interaction between the cards. (Please take a look at last week’s blog for more information https://amethystastrotarot.com/?p=603) Including the Shadow card, I may tell that there is an Air and Water balance which is a good balance of active and passive elements that are neutral with each other. However, there is still some kind of grounding and real action missing due to the lack of Fire and Earth elements.

Having said that, the Hermit is a card of reflection, going into isolation (sometimes forced one) to learn lessons and then returning back to illuminate the rest of the society with the torch of knowledge. It is true that lots of lessons learnt during the pandemic. In a way, there should be some reflection period both for the governments and public to put the hat in front of them and to think to be able to return to life in a more healed and in a more fruitful way.

I hope that this reading will be resonating for the beginning of 2021.

2021 will start tomorrow, obviously nothing will change in 1 day but still let’s keep our hopes and continue to wish for the best.
