Transits
I know that it has been a longer break than I wanted since my last blog, but I was thinking what to write about.
As I have mentioned in my Facebook page, since I covered 6 zodiac signs with 6 Tarot cards, before starting the next 6 and complete the series, I would like to talk about an interesting and important subject in Astrology, the ‘transits’.
Transit comes from the Latin word ‘transitus’ which means to ‘go over’ or ‘cross over’ which is similar to its astrological meaning, too.
We have natal charts which shows the position of the planets in the sky the moment that we were born. It is like as if the time stops at that moment, we take a picture and voila! the birth chart is there.
However, do the planets stay in their places at that instant like frozen in time? The answer is ‘no’. As the planets continue moving in astronomical terms orbiting the Sun, so they do in astrological terms as well.
The only thing is that some celestial objects move faster than the others. For example, Moon, in 27.3 days it finishes one cycle around the Earth, while it takes Pluto 248 years to complete a full tour around the Sun. In this regard, astrologically Moon may stay in a sign on average 2-2.5 days while Pluto may stay in a sign (according to the sign it may stay shorter or longer) on average 16-20 years. You may imagine the impact of a slow-moving planet/planetoid…
So, what is a ‘transit’? For a certain date and time we may produce a transit chart and see where the planets are positioned and ‘what kind of angles (which is called aspects in astrology such as conjunction, opposition etc.) they make to the planets in the natal chart’; defines the term ‘transit’ in astrology.
This looks like the #20year challenge on the social media (while you are actually going through maybe 30s, 40s and so on) sharing what we looked like that time, find the similarities and differences, what changed, what kind of expression I have on my face now, why, what may have happened or what is going on my life at that specific moment?

In this respect, the bi-wheel charts, where we can see natal and transit charts together, can give us quite a lot information and chance of “archetypal prediction” (Richard Tarnas – Mountain Astrologer interview https://cosmosandpsyche.com/interviews/) especially when you look at the transits of slow moving planets like Uranus, Neptune and Pluto.
Here, I won’t get into details but these planets’ transits may point out to major changes /crisis in our lives. Especially some aspects in late 30s or early 40s may point out to ‘midlife crisis’. However, whether the transit may lead to a more positive change (sometimes changes may be necessary to continue our lives in a more healthy way) or a crisis may depend on how we react to the transit as well. Not saying that there should be a full surrender, but resistance may not make things easier.
That would be this week’s ‘taster’ of transits😀😉
I will be coming back with a new sign and associated Tarot card next week.
Yes, you guessed well, I don’t know which sign yet😂
